Commercial Development Manager – London (City) Based

Competitive Base Salary + Bonus up to 70% + Benefits

This represents an exceptional opportunity to further your career in property development, working for a leading global fund manager on high profile office led schemes throughout the UK (Central London and the Regions).

As part of a small Development team based in London, you will have a number of existing schemes to manage from day one, with a solid pipeline of future development opportunities. In addition, the company invests in European development schemes so you will have the opportunity to get involved in projects outside of the UK market.

Upon joining, you will have immediate responsibility for a prominent Central London development scheme which is being developed in joint venture with a well known private property company. Upon completion, this scheme will offer headquarter quality office space, retail and restaurant accommodation. Therefore, previous experience of developing offices in the Central London market would be beneficial.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, lead and co-ordinate the instigation, investigation and assessment of development/refurbishment opportunities to maximise investment returns.
  • Lead and direct the project team in the implementation of approved projects including any appointed external consultants.
  • Take strategic responsibility for the project design and delivery.
  • Monitor and review in conjunction with the Asset Manager/Investment Manager the project performance against the authorised returns.

Key Requirements

  • MRICS qualified (or equivalent).
  • Post-qualification experience in commercial development, managing all aspects of the development process.
  • Ability to work on multiple development schemes simultaneously (on projects with a total value exceeding £20m).
  • An understanding of development funding deals and the effective management of joint venture partners.
